UNI Global Union’s Congress takes place every 4 years – the last one was 2014 in Cape Town and the 2010 congress was in Japan. There will be approximately 2500 delegates heading to Liverpool from around 140 different countries for the event.
UNI Global Union represents more than 20 million workers from over 900 trade unions in the fastest growing sectors in the world – skills and services. A total of 90% of new jobs are expected to be in these sectors in the next decade. UNI and their affiliates in all regions are driven by the responsibility to ensure these jobs are decent and workers’ rights are protected, including the right to join a union and collective bargaining.
The event will take place from Sunday 17th to Wednesday 20th June at ACC Liverpool, and will feature guest speakers such as Jeremy Corbyn (Leader of Labour Party), Houcine Abassi (Tunisian Nobel Peace Prize Winner), Guy Ryder (Director General of the ILO) plus many more.
Liverpool Convention Bureau are proudly managing the delegate accommodation for the Women’s and Main Congress. For more information about the programme, click here.
