Spaces at The Spine is Liverpool’s ultimate destination for events, having officially opened in September 2021. This outstanding venue offers world-class dynamic spaces for conferences, workshops and dining, as well as event production services to accommodate virtual and hybrid events.
Spaces at The Spine is housed within The Spine, the new northern home of the Royal College of Physicians. The Spine was designed to be one of the healthiest buildings in the North West. In fact, the building incorporates the ten principles making up the WELL Building Standard, the world premier standard for buildings seeking to implement and validate features that support and improve human health and wellness.

Event spaces and capacities
Spaces at The Spine’s event facilities are located on the ground floor, Floor eleven, Floor twelve and the top floor of The Spine.
Ground floor
The Ground floor offers two fantastic informal event spaces open to the public and available for hire: The Base and The Steps.
The Base is The Spine’s wellness café, and it is the ideal space for grab-and-go lunches and informal meetings with colleagues and clients, as well as community evening get-togethers and private events. The Steps are a wonderful multi-functional tiered space paired with an exhibition area (the Jerwood Exhibition Space) and have been designed to host creative exhibitions, TED talks and screenings.

Floor eleven
Floor eleven is a truly unique space ideal for healthcare simulations, training days, filming, photoshoots and group interview days. This floor features two identical assessment suites with a dedicated reception area to welcome guests, an examiners’ briefing room and a patient waiting room.
o Space Ten – Recommended layouts: 16 (U-Shape) or 40 (Theatre style)
o Space Eleven – Recommended layouts: 16 (U-Shape) or 40 (Theatre style)
o Space Ten & Eleven – Recommended layouts: 48 (Cabaret) or 80 (Theatre style)
Floor twelve
Floor twelve boasts double-height floor-to-ceiling windows, an internal sky garden and an open-plan registration area ideal for networking, The Atrium.
The Atrium connects seamlessly to the building’s Top floor via an open helical staircase, allowing you to combine both floors and bring your event together in one space.
Floor twelve includes two event spaces boasting unique next-generation technology. The cutting-edge Harvard-style Wolfson Lecture Theatre has double-aspect views across the city. The Wolfson Virtual Theatre, which can open on the Atrium, creates impact with a wall of screens ideal for delegate engagement, advanced learning and branding. This floor also includes event spaces Four to Nine. Spaces Four and Five, and Spaces Six to Nine can be combined to welcome a maximum of 150 and 280 people respectively.

Top floor
Lastly, the Top floor boasts spectacular panoramic views across Liverpool City Centre and the Mersey, with views all the way to North Wales in the distance.
Delegates are welcomed to The Flyover overlooking The Atrium on Floor twelve, with its award-winning biophilic internal sky garden. The Axis, the destination dining space on the Top floor, is the jewel in the crown of Spaces at The Spine and is available for exclusive use.
In addition, there are a further two flexible event spaces (Space One and Space Two) that can be expanded into one large room accommodating up to 330 delegates, as well as a third space (Space Three), which is the perfect green room for organisers and speakers.
